鮭は白身魚ですが、産卵時に川を上る力を備えるためにアスタキサンチンを筋肉に蓄えることで、身がアスタキサンチン由来の赤い色味となります。

有胞子性乳酸菌は、胞子を形成する乳酸菌です。ビフィズス菌等の一般的な乳酸菌は、乾燥や熱、酸に弱い場合が多く、生きたまま食品に利用するのが難しく、経口摂取した場合には胃酸等により腸に届く前に多くが死滅します。有胞子性乳酸菌は、胞子を形成しているため、酸や熱にも強く、摂取した場合にはその多くが生きたまま腸まで届き留まります。そのため、摂取した有胞子性乳酸菌は、生きた状態で数日間程度腸内に留まり、乳酸を生成し、良好な腸内環境の維持をサポートします。
